I agree in - too each his own...I am not arguing =D

I bet MCE is pretty good...I just haven't had the time to check it out very much...let alone get in deep with it. Hard to test it when your tv tuners are recording tv shows. Even harder when your computer stuff is sitting in storage in Auckland =/

Got to agree with the right plugin MCE isnt that bad, very very easy to use. I have tried getting the wife to learn other MP's but she likes MCE better, so MCE it is on the htpc. I use MCE for my recorded tv and MPC=HC on my rig though.

MPC=HC...? It's late, I might just be brain dead right now.

I use it for my movies and ripped tv shows. Wonderful player but not wife friendly at least not my wife.....

I'll ask. Why not just use MCE for eveything? I use mine for all file formats...avi, iso (dvd and bluray) .mkv (ripped bluray)

Native 64bit support for one but the kicker is the pixel shader support in DXVA files, much much better looking image quality than achievable with MCE.

As I said I only really us MCE on my rig for .wtv files since it is 2 clicks to get to my recorded tv on my networked HTPC, it is quicker and easier than getting to them via mpc-hc and since there is no HW acceleration for .wtv files it just works for me.

Try playing around with mpc-hc shaders you will notice a difference but again for ease of use and user interface MCE is the winner especially once it is paired up with media browser. So again for me on my my computer, since I dont need any "flashy UI" mcp-hc but on the htpc where you want some of that "flash" (mostly media browser and its plugins) plus ease of use then MCE is the ticket.
