OT: Security Systems

Not sure where to ask this question but has anyone installed one of those 4 camera security systems at their house? they appear to be just a DVR with 4 cameras hooked up to the back. Looking at the reviews on newegg, they don't seem to get good reviews with complaints about resolution, tech support, camera failure, etc. Thoughts experience, etc.?

I put in a security cam for our house about 6 months ago. Not sure which system you looked at on Newegg but I briefly looked at those 4 camera sets available at Costco and they were not for me -- cabling would have been problematic.

I ended up installing this in an outdoor enclosure:

VIVOTEK - 10x Zoom Dual Streams PoE P/T/Z Network Camera PZ7111/PZ7121

Recording 24/7 to an old 500GB Linkstation NAS that I had mothballed. Resolution is not the greatest but it's good enough for my needs and with P/T/Z I can cover the front of the house with just 1 cam.
