Default Pick apart my proposed HTPC build

As the title says, I'd like for people to pick apart this build and see if there's something I missed or should do differently, more higher or lower end, and why.

HTPC will be hooked up to a 42" Olevia 242-T11 1080i LCD via onboard HDMI and used for live stream, movies, netflix, internet, webcam chat, and basic computing. Very little gaming and, if any, it will not be graphic intense. I have the xbox for games.

The following was found on newegg:

hec Black 0.7mm Thickness SECC Steel 7K09BBA30FNRX Micro ATX Media Center 300W Power Supply / HTPC Case
$49.99

Thermaltake TR2 W0379RU 500W ATX 12V v2.2 Power Supply
$54.99

ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
$74.99

AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition Callisto 3.2GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Desktop Processor - C3 Revision HDZ555WFGMBOX
$88.99

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
$79.99

LG Black Blu-ray Disc Combo SATA Model UH10LS20 LightScribe Support - OEM
$84.99

Rosewill RCR-IM5001 USB2.0 75 in 1 internal Card Reader w/ 3 ports USB2.0 Hub / eSATA port / Extra silver face plate / Molex ...
$24.99

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
$69.99

SIIG JK-WR0412-S1 Black USB RF Wireless Mini Multimedia Keyboard
$59.99

Logitech C910 USB 2.0 1080p HD Pro Webcam
$79.99

Rosewill Windows Vista Certified Media center Infrared Remote Control RRC-126
$24.99

EDIT: I'm looking for a remote control that will do a decent job controlling both the HTPC and the TV (changing sources, channel, volume, and power is all that's needed for the tv). I'm not thinking that the Rosewill will handle what I want it to.

Possible Remote?
Logitech 915-000114 Universal Harmony 650 Remote
$99.99

Also, I'm leaning towards WIN7 for the OS. Any suggestions as to Home, Pro, or Ultimate?

Seeing as you are linking newegg.com it would be a good assumption you are from or ordering from the states?

I know. Total draw is estimated at ~280W. While a 300W psu will handle it, I don't want to push it.

Also, as a side note... I'm a moron. I didn't check to make sure the psu will fit... which it won't... and the only TFX psus are 300W or below...

Back to the drawing board for the case... which can only be 4.5" tall maximum. I like the table enough to limit my options for the htpc...

That would have been my second comment; but 280W draw? Really? My folding rig (dual Xeons - see system specs) at 100% draws ~400W, I can't see why your HTPC would pull 280W...

Are you stuck with that case size, or can you go bigger?

edit: found it - Newegg.com - Antec MicroFusion Remote 350 Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case. 4.5", w/350w PSU.
edit2: yikes! Baddddd reviews...

So perhaps I only need 300W? I haven't built a rig since 133MHz was still an impressive speed, ya'll will have to fill me in on present day consumption.

I'm not sure if I should trust the OEM psu to be quiet... I really need quiet since this is what will be running my entertainment...

This is why I submit my list to be ripped apart... I looked around and realized a couple people here know how to build htpcs. ;)

300w would be plenty for your setup.

i do have a htpc too, a Moneual 932 case with a Corsair HX520W that is virtually silent. Your issue will be to find a case that suits your needs size-wise, while still using a good psu. Don't forget that such small cases mean stock cooling (very few HSFs for small cases), and THAT can be very noisy.
