Default DVD9 playback and how to convert into mkv?

I was wondering what programs will playback dvd9 ISOs? It seems VLC wont and a quick google search hasn't yielded and help either.

Can't you mount the ISO with say VirtualCloneDrive and then just play it like a normal DVD?

Try Media Player Classic Home Cinema else mount it using Virtual CloneDrive.

Well that didnt seem to work nor does xbmc like them, going to have to find what ones are dvd9 and change them to mkvs some how
