HTPC Case

I need a good ATX HTPC case thats small enough to fit in a cabinet and big enough to hold a complete system including my massive xigmatek cooler. looking to spend $150-250.

System specs for fun
Xeon e3110 @ 4.0ghz
4gb firestix pc-8500
8800gt
gigabyte p35-ds3l
wd black 640gb
2x 1tb samsung f1
ocz modxtreme 700w
lg bluray writer
auzentech xplosion 7.1

after my new build is complete this computer will be my new htpc so it needs a new case to call home. let me know what you guys think.

ps - cabinet space is about 18x9...i think.

anyone have any ideas?

tower coolers probably won't fit in most cases. I'd suggest getting a good top-down cooler and looking at some one the NMedia cases, its a good place to start.

Did you consider a Desigh Fractal R3 case? These are pretty nice silent case, and well designed and are quite nice to have in the living room.

I've got a Xigmatek S1283 which is 159MM tall in an Antec Fusion Remote Max and there is still a little room above it.

Why do you need a cooler like that in a HTPC ?

I love Silverstone HTPC cases.

I own the LC-13B-E and am very satisfied with it - you could also look at the bigger LC-17B.

Avoid the cheap Nmedia cases - they are cheaply built and very frustrating to work with in my experience.

By the way, your Sigmatek cooler will fit in neither case above - and I think you would be hard pressed to find an HTPC case that accommodates tower coolers, like the others said, except for the Scythe Katana3, which fits in the Silverstones by 1mm (currently using it).

I second that Synth, i was tempted to go nmedia but i didn't. Have been glad with that decision as the Silverstone HTPC cases are quality built and will last you many of years. Everything thats to be removable is easily removable with a few screws, at least mine is NCIX.com - Buy Silverstone Grandia GD05B Black HTPC mATX Desktop Case 1X5.25 2X3.5INT 1X2.5INT 3X120MM Fan No PS - GD05B In Canada. though its one of the smaller htpc cases they have

Yes id agree, I have had the Silverstone LC16M for three years or so and its been a great case for a media pc. Comes with a remote which is handy at times and imon software which once setup is good.
