Default Questions and Recomendations

Hello all,

Im new here, just found out about the site today. Anyways, I am looking to get my Bell Express Vu hooked up to my computer so that I can watch/record tv on it. This is also my main computer that I will be using. Im looking at getting Beyond TV with the PVR-150, but I need a sound card, Im just using onboard for now. I am looking at the Sondigo Inferno because of the connections it has. I do play games like FSX, Bioshock, Half Life 2, etc...What I would like to do is have optical sound from the Bell reciever to the Infernos optical input and use that for sound and the PVR-150 for video input. Will I beable to record without problems with this setup?? Also, how is the Inferno with the games I play. Any other sound cards I should look into for what I want to do?

What is your budget for a sound card?

You can go the higher end of the price scale such as the
AuzenTech X-FI Prelude 7.1 Sound Card PCI 32BIT Eax 5.0 - $199.99

ASUS Xonar 7.1 Channel PCI Sound Card 24BIT DTS Dolby Digital S/PDIF IN/OUT 118DB Snr - $194.99 - We have a Review on it here.

or you can lower end of the price scale

HT Omega Striker 7.1 7.1 Channel PCI Sound Card 24BIT DTS Dolby Digital Live S/PDIF IN/OUT Coaxial -$79.99

Sondigo Inferno 7.1 Channel PCI Sound Card 24BIT DTS Dolby Digital Live S/PDIF IN/OUT - $84.99

Did you get it set up? I am having trouble with Express View and Vista 64bit media center. It does not recognize any signal. I am using a WinTV-HVR-1800 card.

Thanks
