Default Brisbane HTPC

Below_Cost thinks this deserves it's own thread.

Built my HTPC.

It had centered around a single core Turion ML-32 and a 754 Asus Board, but either of those components causes the system to die when installing an OS, back to the drawing board!

I chose a CPU with a bit more Umph and similar cool running capabilities.

AMD Athlon X2 BE-2300 cooled by ThermalRight XP-120 Alu cooler

Asus M2N-VM DVI

2 GB of OCZ Platinum DDR2

Western Digital 500 GB 16Mb (WD5000AAKS-00YGA0)

Happuage 500 MCE TV tuner (Record girlfriend's rubbish TV while watching the game.)

Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro > Logitech Z5500 5.1

Lite-On SATA DVD burner

In an Antec NSK2480 using both of the 120mm fans on low fan setting.

I replaced the stock Antec 380w with a personal favorite Seasonic S12 330w PSU

And now the pictures

Antec case is about as large as I wanted, my Belkin Pure AV line conditioner is exactly the same width.

Back Panel goodness DVI, GigE, RCA, Coax, and Audigy 2 ZS breakout box outputs of note.

Tucked cables for second A/V bracket tightly between cables.

Tight fit for cards. Extra SATA for eSATA if needed in future.

Rerouted 24 pin to avoid PCI cards. 4 Pin cable is rather short, need to get an extension and hide under board.

Looks good Ychocky!

He has been talking about building this system for months now, good to finally see it completed .

Are you running this out to to your 22 inch widescreen? Have you tested it out on a 1080p yet?

Correct! Running it of my LG Wide Screen.

Trying out 1080p this weekend at the gf's.

The trip down to Hamilton for that Toshiba has tickled my fancy but not sure if I can drop that lump sum. Great price, but no credit cards! LOL

Oops... Um... Um.... soon then! I'll try not to forget this time (damn brain issues, lol).
System has since been upgraded to a rare Athlon Mobile 4000+ running at 2.6Ghz and a Palit 3850 256mb. Yes yes, I will get the pictures taken this weekend for y'all. And if you ask nice, I'll even throw in the picture of my whole A/V setup!
