Something like this would do: NCIX.com - Buy NCIX Value Bundle Deal Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 Gigabyte G41M-ES2H & Kingston 2GB HyperX RAM - G41-E5200-2GB In Canada.

I'd probably toss in a HD4350 as well since I'm not too sure how good Intel outputs HD.
Geez I was gonna say that's a little bit of a rip off since the mobo and CPU can be had for ~$137 but apparently DDR2 is getting a bit pricey now.

DDR2 and DDR3 prices are about equal IMO. If you can afford the little extra an AM3/DDR3 motherboard costs, then you might as well go that route.

Yeah not saying you're wrong, Just I remember DDR@ being dirt cheap at one point. Bought 2GB of some pretty good stuff for ~$16 or $17 a bit back so seeing NCIX alot $60 -$70 for RAM in that package deal threw me back but that is what it's worth now.

I have i5750/P55 board HTPC. Works fine with 53" TV with HD4870 card. Before that i had dual core 2Ghz with HD2600 and it worked the same as i5 set up.... Ijust under XP ... it couldn't handle Vista or 7. I recommend Antec Fusion 430 as a case (good cooling), just replace fans with better ones... GELID Thermal Controlled fans worked for me. Good sound card won't hurt either.

Hi guys,

I just wanted to thank you all for your input . I was going to build my own system, but ended up buying a complete
system from Future shop.

It's not the best system out there, but so far it is doing everything I need it to do with no headaches.

I bought a Hewlett Packard P6218F . It cost me $580 .

The determining factor for me was that Windows 7 was included. That was a $200 cost to me if I were building my own system.
The video card has HDMI output to my tv, and has worked flawlessly so far.

To build this system from scratch would have cost me in the $800 range. I know all the components aren't the best
but so far the machine is doing everything I need it to do.

Again many thanks for the responses.

Cheers,

Craig

Also,

I bought a Logitech Di Nova Edge keyboard.

I have mixed reviews on it at this point, but I'm starting to get used to it.

Cheers,

Craig
