TV Card recommendation Hi there, I have a system that I recently formatted with Windows 7 however the 9600 AIW installed works only as a video card. I am unable to have Video-in from a decade old Camcorder. Do you guys know of a card that will allow me to work with an older Camcorder so I can take the video in and then work with it? Perhaps a TV card of sorts? Hauppauge? ATI Tuners? I spoke with an AMD support rep and they said they have no support for the AIW cards in Windows 7. I have windows 7 32-bit on this box. It's a Pentium 4 @ 3GHz with 1.5 GB DDR RAM. Hard drive space is plenty as it is a 250GB drive. |
Hauppauge HVR-1600 maybe |
I'd recommend the Hauppauge card I have in the buy sell forum, or is that wrong :) |
What output does your camcorder use? I have this card and have been very happy with it: NCIX.com - Buy Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600 PCI TV Tuner Hardware MPEG NTSC ATSC QAM Retail Box W/ Remote & IR Receiver - 1181 In Canada. Its a PCI card; if you want a PCI-E version of that card, then this one: NCIX.com - Buy Hauppauge WINTV-HVR-1800 PCI-E1 TV Tuner NTSC ATSC QAM for Windows Vista Whitebox OEM - 1129 In Canada. I don't use the digital tuners on those cards though, so I can't speak as to the usefulness of that. These cards have hardware decoding which is nice, and I have found support for XP and Vista to work well. Also works well with various media applications (ie SageTV). The cards above have the regular NTSC and S-Video inputs. If your camcorder uses Firewire then I would look elsewhere. |

Do you mean the 9600 AIW has the right input for the camcorder and it just won't work under WIN-7? If so did you download the latest driver from ATI? And what outputs does the camcorder have. |
