Are you recording TV? If so then maybe you should stick with it. If you are not, then XBMC.

No, I'm not recording tv, just dvd's, bluray and mkv;s.
What's the advantage of using XBMC over Window Media center?

Menus are a lot easier to navigate. All your movies & TV shows get nice 720p/1080p backgrounds, movie posters & tv show episode & movie synopsis'. All done automatically as long as the movie title and tv series folders are named correctly.
