Default Quality issue using dvi to hdmi?

Im trying to find a solution for a friend, that wants to run 2 lcds, and a 1080p (hdmi) tv from his computer. I was thinking about using a triple head2go, to route the 1 dvi to the 2 screens, then using a dvi to hdmi converter to go to the tv. I figure this should work, but my friend is concerned that the tv will look bad, cause its not an hdmi port. Any thoughts, or suggestions on an alternate solution.

DVI is equal to HDMI in terms of bandwidth, so running his TV using a DVI to HDMI cable @ 1080p should be no problem and show no difference in quality. The only real difference is that HDMI also carries audio, DVI does not.

For his other two monitors, why do you need a Triplehead2go when he only has two? A Dualhead2go, just like the triplehead, can go up to 2x 1900x1200 without a problem.

Ah dual head2go, didnt know it existed! Does the product allow you to use 2 independant monitors in windows, just as if they had both had a dedicated dvi port?

No. Both the dualhead2go and triplehead2go appear as a single super-wide monitor in windows. Games will be stretched across both monitors if theyre both on and using the super-wide resolution. However, you can still have them act as independant monitors by using 1) a desktop divider and 2) using a single monitor in-game resolution if necessary.

yup... what Cmetaphor said. The tripplehead or dual head makes a virtual superwide monitor. So when you fullscreen it's cut off on the display.

i.e.

a dualhead2go hooked up to two 1024x768 monitors will show up as a single 2048x768 monitor in the operating system.

The setup you speak of it typical of a video editing computer. Dual monitors for mixing video and audio and a third display ported directly to a TV or HD monitor for real-time proofing. Perhaps the best way to go about this is two video cards NOT in SLI. One video card with dual DVI for LCD monitors and another video card dedicated to HDMI out for your HDTV.
