Default Silverstone LC20

This may sound silly, but I can't find the exact answer anywhere. Will this case fit a GTX 260 in it? I have one laying around now that I bought my 295 and figured I may as well put it to good use

It will work provided there are no drives in the middle HDD cage, I further recommend removing the cage for more room if need be. Be mindful that the GTX260 is a pretty hot card so ensure that you have adequate cooling.

Regards,

EE

I guess they have different revisions of this case. My LC20 only has 1 cage and the drives are vertical. With my 4870 I can fit 5 drives in there instead of 6.

Yeah, I've noticed that too, there's the seperate cages you see, then there's the vertical mount cage with sound dampeners, but if you can fit a 4870 in there, I'm thinking that my 260 will fit as well, hopefully not too snug though

It is a tight fit with the stock cooler and 5 drives but it does work.

How would you think it would fit with an HR03 GTX cooler mounted?

I have a simular silverstone case the gd1 and I had to modify the drve bay cage because of the length of the gtx 260. Also because of the top mounted power connectors on the video card, i also installed a 92mm fan in the drive bay cage wich reduced the temperatures quite a bit. hope this helps

That's a great idea, I think I'll buy it and see how it goes, an extra fan either way is a good idea all in all

You can mount 2 92mm fans in the drive bay cage. I had the gtx 260 in my Silverstone htpc case with 2 92mm fans and the internal temps of the case were ok. But I found that my rig runs alot cooler with the nmedia htpc because of the perferated top to allow better airflow. The Silverstone case is better quality with better construcion however the nmedia htpc allows for 2 120mm fans with one of the fans about 3 inches from the video card now that gtx temps are 10 degrees cooler about 41 celceus and also keeps the southbridge cool. I would suggest that you look at the nmedia htpc as well as the silverstone.
