HTPC box (ATX) without 5.25 drive bay
Does anyone know of any HTPC boxes that wouldn't have the drive bay?

I find the current HTPC cases are still too deep for what I'm looking for. I'm looking to convert my old gaming pc from 5 years ago into a media pc. So basically stripping out the parts into a new case.

I don't plan on adding 5.25 drive. I've got a skinny slot load DVD drive (firewire) which I'll work in somewhere into the case.

Here is the layout I'm looking for:
| _P_ | __Other_____ |
| _S_ | __&_Disks___ |
| ________________ |
| ________________ |
| ________________ |
| ____ATX_________ | <--- Front of Unit
| ____MB__________ |

Donít know if these will work for you, they have the 5-1/4 drive opening parallel to the case which reduces the depth of the overall case by a good amount, they look to be all vertical models but I donít see why they canít be laid on the side. There layout also looks to be what you want with many models to chose from.

That's a good idea in general. I should start looking for vertical boxes I can lay on the side that meet my size factor. Thanks for the help.

If anyone else wants to throw out some more links for cases I'd be very grateful. Thanks.
