I'm getting a constant ~2000 PPD on my laptop with the Linux SMP folding (FahCore_a2). The laptop is configured as follows:
Dell Inspiron 1420 running Ubuntu 8.04 x64
Intel C2D T7500 (2.2 Ghz, 4 MB Cache, 800FSB)
4 GB PC2-5400 (it's a laptop so obviously the slower JDEC timings)
I'm pretty sure the chipset is the mobile
965GM but I don't have a CPU-Z screenshot handy.
nVidia 8400M GS
By comparison, I tried the Windows SMP client (the one that works on Vista x64) on a similarly configured desktop, resulting in around half the PPD, so 900-1000. That desktop is no longer folding.
Intel C2D E6400 (2.13 GHz, 2 MB cache, 1066 FSB)
4 GB cheap PC2-4200
Intel 965 chipset
This is what the log looks like, to show % times. On Linux.
