GTX 280 Now Folding for HCF

Well guys, I have taken the plunge. I am happy to say that the GTX 280 you saw reviewed today is now folding for HCF....I think.

So far I am looking at about 557ns / day and it looks like my first WU (p5001_supervil) will take 20 minutes to complete. Please make sure you look at the HCF stats to make sure this is folding properly.

I wil need you guys to help be troubleshoot with this new BETA client. :thumb::thumb:

CPU usage: between 17-20% on one core of a Q6600 overclocked to 3.5Ghz.

Power consumption: 396W peak

Where did you get that. It's nowhere to be found on the FAH D/L site, even the F@H Forum Admins are confirming that no such client exists. Yet.

Looking forward to seeing those points SKYMTL. We're starting to slip a little bit (well not slipping yet, but definately stagnating).

It'll probably take 3+ hours to show up on any of our stats pages SKYMTL.

Well... if this client is more stable than the SMP client, I just may dual-fold with BOINC on the Quad and the GPU client on the 8800GTS...

All reviewers received this with our GTX 280 kits. Judging from the license files this will work with Nvidia AND ATI GPUs but I could be wrong.

Public release is "soon".

Well, the WU was started at 10:02 tonight and I intend to leave this thing on for the next 30 mins. Tomotrrow night folding from 6:00pm to 11:00PM so we will see how things look by then. I will take more screenshots of the app tomorrow but it seems there is no way to tell how long until a WU is calculated.

Shutting down the computer for the night won't be a problem, will it?

FAH clients are updated every 3 hours. And you need a few WU results to have a points average. If you shutdown, you won't have any results until tomorrow night, even Wednesday.

Any idea what this is all about?

Looks like there is a new folding king when it comes to hardware.

Not running the F@H client 24/7 should be an issue for the GTX280 since it can complete a WU extremely quick. Just be sure it finishes any WUs within their deadline, which again shouldn't be a problem for the GTX280.

EDIT: based on that log file it looks like the completed WU was sent since it said it "Successfully sent unit 04 to Collection server.".
