Congratulations on your first Work Unit (WU)! Now if you could let it run a few hours to gather some points and setup the average, then we'll be able to compare. Remember that one of the best CPUs out there for folding (Q6600) can manage 4600-4800 ppd using the SMP client under Linux.

How do we see an average PPD? Let the thing run for one full 24 hour cycle?

There is no way I can let this thing run over night since I just got mu monthly electricity bill and it ain't pretty.

Where would I find the number of points I get for completing the WU?

You need to use a monitoring program, like Fahmon (Home | FahMon), unless there is one specifically made of the GPU client. If the file structure of the GPU installer is similar to the CPU installer, then it should be a breeze to use Fahmon. It usually takes a few completed WUs to have a true average.

You either run a program called FAHMon (probably not configured to work with the new Nvidia beta anywise), or wait until your points show up in the stats here.... Hardware Canucks Forum - Team Summary - EXTREME Overclocking Folding @ Home Stats

When your name shows up there (you did set it up with the team # and everything right??? :) ) click on your name and it will show you how many WUs you uploaded and what your total points for that 3 hour block was. Divide by the # of WUs and assuming the beta is handing out mostly the same WU you will have your Points Per WU.

Interesting. That will be tomorrow night.

Right now I seem to be averaging 1WU sent every 18-20 minutes. In the cliet it says that the WU is "5000" whatever that means...

I have no idea if I put everything in there correctly but if you look at the image I posted it seems like my name is there and the team # is that of HWC. In the GPU client I even have a direct link to the HWC stats page so I guess everything is set up correctly.

If I only fold for 2 hours, will the WUs still show up on the stats page?

It's just an identifying # for the WU. Dual core SMP WUs are mostly 2 different ones (WUs of the same # will usually fold the same PPD) but every now and then we get ones we don't see very often.

They will, but sometimes it seems to take a while for the servers to send out the info on a new user. I'd guess you should see it up in under 6 hours so it should be up by morning.

It will show the number of completed WUs that were uploaded within that 3 hours timeframe. That client looks very interesting....

The client is very straightforward but since it is a BETA there were quite a few hoops I had to jump through to get it installed.

One thing is for sure though: the a GTX 280 folding I won't need a heater in the winter.
