Gaming PC vs. Space Heater Efficiency - Puget Custom Computers

Use a space heater during the winter? Might as well fold instead since a PC is just as efficient as space heater when it comes to providing heat.

Good to know! We should have a folding competition during the winter months!

All I can say it's now been a few weeks of colder weather outside (4-5 during the day and just under 0 at night) and my 3 folding rigs keep the WHOLE house at around 23-24 degrees and in the rigs room it's 26 with a window slightly open. If I close the window, it will be around 31 in the room and 26 in the house!!!

I spread my machines through the house now. Last winter my 'server' room got ridiculously hot while the rest of the rooms stayed cool.

How do I get my place warmer? Turn down one/both of the 12000btu a/c units in my 900sqft condo.... With the lack of btc rigs this winter I might disconnect 1 a/c unit all together :)

lowfat, I wish it was that warm here. It was -21 the other night, and -11 this morning. Gotta love the prairies. That's ok though, I just added a GTX 770 to the mix as an upgrade to my gaming rig. Everything else is up and running keeping my basement nice and toasty. Makes the hardwood upstairs nice and warm too.
