New client tweaking !?

So I've added a couple new NVidia 760's , to the 580 in my main rig.(see sig)..new install of all video/folding....

Current NVidia drivers ( 331.65 )
Current folding client (7.3.6._x86 )
Everything is bone stock.

83kppd running core 15 8018 units on gpu....smp12...Interesting , it appears the 580 and the 760 are neck and neck on a 17392 ppd unit.....760 using much less power.

:thumb:

Question 1 : I've read core 17 is coming online mainstream .Do I need to set anything ? or will it autodownload that now ?

--

Question 2 : What's the optimal first and second 'tweaks' people here would do ? (...and don't say overclock.)

Cheers !

I think only the advanced and beta flagged slots receive core 17. A 760 should get way more than 17K w/ a core 17.

As for tweaks? Nothing really.... Well besides overclocking. :haha:

My 760 was doing on average 60k PPD on core 17 WUs with the beta flag. I think they removed 8900 from beta as I don't get it anymore on my 7850.

I currently have 8900 on all my GPU's (AMD and Nvidia) so you might see some 8900 soon :thumb:

Just to give you an idea my gtx660 stock is getting about 70K PPD on 7811 WU.
I haven't seen a 8900 WU in days now. All I have been getting is 7810, 7811
CPU is getting 10147, 6364 and 7647 WU's .
I am seeing TPF's as low as 54 sec on some of those GPU WU's, very few are over 2 mins.
Most of the credits are between 9800 and 20000. Whereas on the 8900's I saw 35000 credit, but they took longer to complete. I think these WU's have boosted my PPD production by 100K.
All core 17, set to expert and beta flagged.

EDIT: I should also mention the gpu's are running cooler as well maybe 5-10 degrees on these
7810, 7811 WU's.

ok so I am not the only one missing 8900.

There have been realivity no 8900 WUs for a few months. On very rare occasion I'll pull one. One every other week on average maybe.

I have not had 8900 for a few days now. Guessing but up till about last tue-wed that's all I got. Then they started to disappear and the 7810,11's came on. These 7810/11 have very low TPF compared to the 8900 I was getting.

Folding is wierd sometimes :shok:

Why do people struggle with 8900 and that's all I get for now.....really really wierd :blarg:

LoTech November 10, 2013 12:46 PM

Not sure I struggled. Having said that it depended what card the 8900 ran on. A 660 may take 8 hrs for 25000 credit. It may run on a 680 for 34000 credit in 4.5 hrs. Right now I have a 7810 WU running at 19000 credit ETA 1 hr 27 min and TPF of 1 min 08 sec that's 239549 PPD if it stayed like this. Wow just dropped to 115000 PPD and 1.54 min for TPF. They really fluctuate depending on the WU. MInd you the 7647 cpu WU I have right now is 1/2 done and says 10 more hrs to go for 20000 credit. Maybe should just shut those cores down...
