Can you run Linux with Bigadv on all nodes at once?

Each node is independent of the others so basically it's four servers in a 2U format. You still get 16 threads per server.

For what I want to do... yes. Folding on these is just an extra

any update on that project? has the unit arrived? and how is the noise? and how much did you pay the import tax on it?
for those interested by the subject there is a thread here with more details. Taming the C6100 - Page 2
As for the power consumption figures I quote "
Idle: 174w at 66dba
Folding@Home GROMACS 100% CPU load on all 8 CPUs: 489w at 77.4dba (power saving enabled)
"
Although if it would be only for the folding part I think throwing one of the new Nvidia cards should do more PPD than that system, at 50% less power and a lot more silent.

I got a model from a canadian place so didn't pay any import tax. Folding isn't the main purpose for me... It's a nice bonus. Loud as heck when you sit next to it. That's why I have this project going on: Servers home lab

As for power consumption, my unit came with E5530 so consumption is higher than what MARSTG stated. Under full load, it's about 1100W (running on 2 UPS).

I am also slowing down from folding, but just a bit. I sold my GTX 760 (fantastic card, it allowed me to use it as the display card and fold on it in the same time with no lag in any application, like watching movies, listening to music, streaming YouTube or playing on the internet.) and now I am waiting for my my 4P socket F Opteron platform to arrive and then I shall resume folding, going on the -bigadv WU. Many thanks to doup93 who is helping me to get a foothold on the 4P land! In the mean time I am playing with Windows Server 2008 R2 in a VM to see how it will feel.

Anytime Marius.

As for me, I have been officially back to full speed with the completion of my server room.
