Does anybody have any idea what the 7870's do for PPD? I may replace my son's 5870 in the near future, as that card runs very HOT, and I'm wondering if I should go 7870 or 650Ti Boost. I know the 650Ti Boost is good for 25K PPD, does the 7870 now match or exceed that, what with the new fahcore?

At least the 650Ti will not run out of WU. With my current 7970, my production is really inconsistent, because they seem to run out of beta WU frequently. The chimp challenge is probably not helping haha

Hmmm, I wonder if this beta core will be a permanent thing, or if it will be like the Nvidia beta core of a few monthes ago, that ended after a run of about a month....

well, it is beta. never know how long they're going to be around. they usually do filter down to public release after a round or two in beta.

Folding@home Core 17 Update - YouTube

Update on current state of core 17. Biggest news I see there is native Linux GPU folding for Nvidia, the speed gains are impressive, but basing those gains on PPD doesn't really mean much as they'll probably nerf the PPD before it gets out of beta.

Getting 80k out of my GTX680 now. I'd hate to see what a Titan will do now.

Wondering what the future holds for bigadv with 7970s getting 120K PPD now. Just got back to bigadv too :P Right now, with regards to PPD/watt 4P bigadv machines are still more efficient, down the road however I"m not so sure. The Xeon Phi support would be very interesting though.

They need to have a lower priced version before I'd ever consider one.
