EVGA Time zone contest proposal

OK guys new proposal on the books here

Just had a talk with troy8d

current contest format
https://sites.google.com/site/timezonechallenge/

this will change under inter-team (you fold under your own team number)
prizes are internal for moment - your team captains can talk to us about this

we would be willing to implement inter-team play now if you wish
(you fold for your team ) put we use your EOC to collect stats for the Timezones

so you be fighting your bros/sisters/fellow members from your other timezones

we need to know ASAP
we can delay the contest to get other teams onboard

[H],OCF had indicated some interest too

Ill be posting this on their forums too

if you wish to delay/wait til next year we understand or not wishing to join that's fine
(feeling inter-team contest wreck things ...we understand that too)

so this is up to you guys

your team loses nothing - points still go to your team
all that is gained if friendship , a little fun and some slagfest even against your own members

if you guys wish I was not chattering some babble and coming here to wreck your harmonious forums then you can banish me to some belching pot of goo

I just wish we had more time to work this out with your leaders

talk quick and get a hold of us at EVGA

So, is anyone here interested in this?

Same problem as a lot of the other formats, there's a big disadvantage unless you're in the EST. Gee, I wonder who won last year?

US population by time zone (2006) ....
Eastern Standard Time (EST) - 141,631,478
Central Standard Time (CST) - 85,385,031
Mountain Standard Time (MST) - 18,715,536
Pacific Standard Time (PST) - 48,739,504

It would work out if there was some sort of averaging formula, in order to equalize the number of folders in each time zone. I know that there's probably only a couple of us on this website who are in central time (manitoba, SK). So, compared to Pacific time, Eastern Time, and even MOuntain Time, we have a distinct disadvantage.

While that holds true for Canada, not so for the rest of North America... Central is the second most populous in the U.S., and if you include the rest of the continent, it is actually the most populous since most of Mexico and all the Central America countries are in that zone. And think of the poor Newfies all alone in their little zone

And, just what percentage of the mexican/South American population are folding?

I would expect quite a few. Laundry is a big thing down there, otherwise you stink like crazy very quickly

time zones from outside the 4 main ones are put into a group and placed in low PPD teams

CST and EST are the highest pop zones yet pst was in last
MST has the highest ppd/member 22 against 100(EST) ... (6 in top 20 last year... could be 7 of top 20 this year on our team)
love to make an example that the smallest team can beat the biggest

it about overcoming adversity...EST or CST should win CST won 2 yrs ago

and can never resist the chat channel and some good fun
im in MST... I don't care if we never win.... it the threat that it's possible that sends fear into EST
