I remember that WU... and the PPD was worse than not giving it a try if I remember correctly!

Me too me too..

I'm not certain from the article if the new PPD scheme is actually on these WUs or if they're just "testing the units" at the old method of PPD without a QRB just to see stability for now.

It seems that they are "testing" it for the moment, but "eventually" they will revamp all the GPU WUs

I believe that this will be a closed beta for the "Beta Team" for a while before it is released in open beta for the masses.

Do we have to change anything in "configure" to get these? Or do we just let it run and see what comes in. Is it automatic assign to anyone with GPU's running? thanks guys,

I would assume they aren't available to the public yet. When they are released you shouldn't have to do anything special, except likely be running the V7 client.

we have started a GPU3 project (Project ID: 8057) and released it for beta testing. Once the benchmarking scheme has been tested, all the current GPU projects will be re-benchmarked to reflect the changes in the benchmarking scheme.
1) The new 8057 WU is in beta (no mention of open vs closed beta)... not 100% certain if this has the new point benchmarking scheme attached to it.... or the QRB.
2) "all the current GPU" projects will get the new benchmarking and point scheme from the sounds of things... so that should mean that all they need to test right now is if the bechmarking scheme is a fair representation of "equal work for equal points." and then everyone will see the change in PPD. I'd say there is a chance we won't have to wait 4 months for this change to happen :)
