needs to be Fermi generation : my GT 430@730 gets 20k PPD on WU8057 and the GTS 450@850 gets around 43k PPD.

The unification of compute cores is overdue. It's a software issue and it's brilliant that Stanford is doing work on this.

The 16-48 (etc) core units (smp) should very definitely be scaleable and measureable VS the 1000+ cores of (gpu) computing.

I'd suggest Stanford learns some valuable information about processor scaling/etc....

edit : .....and yea bout time us GPU guys got some love.

Is there any special config needed for this? My overclocked GTX 680 is running about 23kppd... Seems a little low compared to the other results above....

Ensure that V7 is set to 'advanced'.

Click "Configure", and enter the "Slots" tab.

Select your gpu slot, and click on Edit.

Under 'Extra Slot Options', click 'Add'.

In the 'Name' box, enter: client-type
In the 'Value' box, enter: beta

Click Ok.

Repeat for all fermi/kepler GPUs that you have.

the communicate stated clearly it was for Fermi only, might not work correctly on Kepler.

It works on Kepler. I've been getting 8057s on my 680, and they boost my PPD up to 170K.

EDIT: I don't get 100% 8057s, I get a mix of 8057s and 8018s.

the 8057 units seem to be abundant a lot more during the morning, lest say around 06:00 AM EST.

The morning is when I get my 8018s. I get most of my 8057s in the afternoon and overnight.
