What am I missing ?
Ok , so I just put my 3rd 580 back into my rig (in sig).....
The 2 580's that were in did 20-25 kppd each , but now that the 3rd one is in , it's gone to shit.one card does the norm (22k) ones doing 10k and ones at 8k...
I've checked the 'power ' options , I 'think' the 3d setting are ok....Something is definitly not happy tho....I'm off into bios to look....
SLI turned off while folding?
I've set all the parameters I did last time , but drivers have changed I guess......I'm missing something. It's like the 2 other cards are 1/2 working.....it's not like 2d clocks.
I'd do a bunch of restarts and checks n stuff , but I've got some steam dl's goin.
Sounds suspicious to me. I would run a gpu scanner to make sure cards are running 100%. Last time I lost points i had 2 fried cards. Now having said that, I am receiving for the past 2 days a bunch of 8044, 8045 and 8049 WU's they are low points take time and have dropped my one machine to 41,000 PPD from 65000 to 70000 PPD. Cards say 100% but temps on those cards are also lower than normal. I use the evga OC scanner. If you need a copy I can email it to you.
I would agree with LoTech, there have definitely been some low PPD GPU work units coming down the pipe lately, so that could be part of it but it does sound like something else is going on. I too would suggest checking to see if they are running at 100% and I would also check the temps... I've seen instances when you add a third card that the temps go above a critical threshold so they then downshift (of course that depends on the settings you are using)
I've been getting a low ppd WU on one of my GTX cores for the past 12 hours. I'll have to check the WU# when I get home. It has the same number of points as my usual GTX295 WUs (353), but it doesn't seem to fully utilize the core. Only one core is suffering from this.
Drivers mebbe? My 2WIN did not like newer drivers but I do not have it folding yet so I am not sure if that has been corrected.
It worked fine for the first 48 hours...then all of a sudden slowed.
Temps on the first core are 71-72 (fully utilized), while the 2nd core has temps of 66-67.
Well I tried a variety of things.
eVGA precision reports all cores running 100% , temps to match....2 cards still doing about half of what they should.
If you stop 1 client , the other misbehaving card goes up a little , but still underperforms....
I've ended up removing the 3rd 580 , the other 2 work fine again.
It's almost like it's a pci-e lane issue , but bios reports everything as fine......and the 3rd 580 works just fine in a diff rig.
