Thats what I dont get about Brain shipping out 1l's to people. Could (Should?) that not be considered reasonable personal use? Even more so if its not under the company banner, unless that gets in to the old moonshine aspect. What about home brewed wine then? I dont know anything about the liabilities associated with any of this, and the fact Brain was saying this is illegal shocked me.

It does seem rather ridiculous for something like this to be a law, I should talk to my friend who knows quite a bit about finding loop holes. He's almost taken the ontario government back in high school on the grounds that the pittbull bans were unconstitutional, as well as won a court case against someone on craigslist who rather not pay him the 5$ for tips to avoid traffic then fork over about 2 grand in court fees/damages.

These stupid laws are still around from prohibition. The NSLC workers go on strike here and you'll see the mounties at the NB border searching cars for booze. The provinces want their taxes and in the case of NS, the significant markup because of the monopoly.

Start a HWC Expediting company. Haul beer east and Dimitry's cases west.

That's not the case I'm afraid.

Every single province has different taxation rates provincially , and different ways of collecting federal excise.

And yes , If you get caught with out-of-province alcohol , you can be charged for it.

It's all pure BS.

The BC/Alta wine drinkers are fighting this right now.I'm going to look into it more and see if we can get some direction towards striking this crap from Canadian law.
