I sure hope I'll break it soon...! But I'll have no news for a few days - he has to wait to be contacted by USPS. That I can understand, I'm waiting for CP to call me back and they said 5-10 working days.

Now, 2 differences between both rigs:

1. Vista 32bit, 181.20s.
2. Vista 64bit, 181.22s.

Both rigs have the same FAH and BOINC settings. But both have low ppd - I think... still reading that FAH Forum thread.

Starting to run out of ideas for your low ppd, but will keep looking.

This is more like what your ppd should be Folding Forum • View topic - NVIDIA GPU2 PPD Thread [Preliminary Results] or this one Folding Forum • View topic - NVIDIA GPU2 PPD Thread [Preliminary Results]

The only difference may be the drivers - what are you using?

I'll clean it up, and move the replies to the FAH thread.
I was just thinking thast myself, oops.

I use 178.13 on Rig1 and the 178.24's on Rig2, old drivers but they have been 100% stable. I'm not sure they are new enough for a i7/260, maybe the 180.xx series...

Weird, the i7 rig has better ppd than the Q6600 rig... but I'll use the same drivers tomorrow with the dual 9800s. If ppd is still low, I'll try a different set of drivers.

You can mod a DVI connector as such. I did it, works great: The 30 Second Dummy Plug - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

Don't forget to extend the monitor to the second card though.

I've been considering folding since I signed up here, but was sitting on the fence. I just read 12 pages of posts here, didn't find what I was looking for, and I'm too busy to JFGI right now, so I"m going to ask a n00b question:

Does folding use a lot of bandwidth? I'm capped at 10 GB/month, and I keep getting warning letters from my ISP *coughtorrentscoughcough*. From what I've read here, it sounds like you download small "packages", fold them, then send them back. Is that more or less correct?

:help:

That is correct. I believe bandwidth consumption with folding is pretty minimal.
