I could fold at those settings, but it wouldn't game. I had to back it down a bit for gaming.

They are very good cards! Not much worse than my current GTX 285s.

You should definately have your GPU clients at 'slightly higher' to make sure they aren't starved of CPU cycles, running Vista, the impact on your CPU client will be minimal.

@3.0charlie; Sorry to hear about your GX2's , I was looking farward to seeing what they could do. Hope you can get them replaced without taking too much of a loss.Have you tried the 9800GT's together yet, that would replace at least one of them. Given that those 511's are tough I'm surprised your 260 isn't getting a higher ppd than that, my GTX+'s do 4430ppd on a 511pt with the shaders at 1998. The GTX vanilla does ~4230 but luckily for me dosn't get many of them...

Good idea about the twin 9800s. I'll try that. As for the GX2s, I have to find and buy other ones...

edit: stupid question, but how do you adjust the GPU client to be "slightly higher"?

I think those 511's just don't like Nvidia cards, your 260 should beat my GTX+'s by a much larger margin on the 353pt WU's. I get 5960ppd on a 384pt and 7148ppd on a 353pt.

The reason you don't see the 'slightly higher' setting is because you are probably using the console GPU client, it has the 'Idle' or 'Low' settings same as the SMP client with 'Low' being the equivalent. The 'slightly higher' setting is AFAIK only on the systray version.
I use the console on Rig1 and the systray on Rig2 and have found no difference in stability or resource usage. I used the systray on Rig2 as I found it easier to config, especially for a multi GPU set-up.

Are you still going to use linux on your Folding rig, how is that going ???

though I'm unhappy with the 260s ppd: 4300-4400 ppd with the 511s, 6500 ppd with the 384s

Typo - that should be 6500 for a 353.
