Oops, sorry. I missed the "it's for a 680" part.

On another note here is the EOC Stats page of a beta tester who got a string of 8057's on his 4 or 5 GTX 460's.

Caution: It's amazing!!

On the configuration screen, select the slots tab, highlight the gpu slot and select edit. At the bottom of the new screen select add and you'll get a popup with two entrys. The first is client-type, the second is beta.

edit: and I don't know why I bother commenting over on the stanford forums whenever an issue like this core pops up. It's the project folks who put out these things and they never comment, nor apparently do they consider what affect these kinds of things has on their volunteer base.

You are a brave soul for venturing into the Pit of Despair (aka, FF). A brave soul, indeed.

...and the reason why I'm taking a break from FF, and completly switched my rigs to BOINC...

Yes, it does appear odd how little thought seemingly goes into some of their decisions at times. Even something as simple as "levelling" seems to either be beyond their comprehension or beneath their consideration... not very encouraging in any case.

From day one it's been patently obvious that they have no concept of the social engineering required to keep a large volunteer base motivated. I don't fault the mods over there, they're probably dealing with not much more info than the average joe has so it's understandable if they get a little testy at times when folks are complaining about something that's probably not going to change, and that won't get any official comment from anybody over at stanford.

Hopefully this boosts my PPD massively. Mainly a GPU folder with 2x480s and soon a 295 to add :) Just switched over to the beta client-type

Well. I enabled Beta client type and both my 480s got a 8018 WU. Which appareantly runs much hotter than a regular WU (78 degrees C compared to 72 with a higher fan setting). Lower PPD also. I hover ~ 16600 these are only worth 14400 but my CPU has increased by ~2k.

Not overly happy with that. Hopefully I run into a 8057 sometime in the future.

I'm strongly leaning in that direction as well. Maybe I'll take another look when GPU QRB is fully enabled.

Quite frankly I'm getting tired of being treated as if they're doing me a favour by allowing me to run their software.

Yay, my 680 arrived today. If the wife gives me a chance to work on it, I'll be folding on it by this evening
