I tell ya, now is the time to buy here folks.

There are three (3!) quad opteron systems for sale.. each around $3k. Could you imagine the folding power of the three systems on one folding username.. *drool* that'd put my old farm to shame!

Admittedly, i'm basically out of folding right now, but if I were a lottery winner I know where the first $10k would go.

This is kind of a bump for 3.0Charlie and jtktam, but as we all know.. this is the target audience for those systems.

Hopefully someone on our team picks a few up to fight the good fight.

Be neat if we could do a community raffle, with someone willing to pay the electricity costs and the deal being that they not sell the system, and pass it along to another long-term member if they wanted to get rid of the system.

I would say it would have to be a long-time member for this to be successful. Not to say that some newer members would not do a great job, but if the name is well-known to all we might be more successful in getting the funds raised in the first place.

Shipping might be a consideration too.

I would take it on but my apt cannot accommodate it without the breakers going off constantly.
