Default Hot GPU3 units

Wow......some new gpu3 (openmmgpu) units : project 8031.

They have increased the power draw by about 50 watts per 580 in my rig.

At 1020 watts draw full load , my ups doesnt cut it anymore...

Came home to one dead machine... Was pushing the limits of my craptacular OCZ power supply anyway... The new work units must have pushed her over the edge... RIP .On a brighter note PPD is was up with the new units. My other fermi equiped rig is up 11K PPD (3 GTX 460's) and the other one is up around 10K PPD (2 GTX 470's)

damn, that sucks about the lost machine. I just checked and I did go up about 8 degrees. I'll have to see what power usage is at when I get home.

The rest of the machine is fine... it was just the power supply that bit the dust... The last time a psu crapped out on me it took the mobo and a hardrive with it... so I guess I'm lucky this time.
