Why would you even want to do that though? Think about it - you're against priming, right? Well, the argument against priming is that it's bad for the project overall because it means work units are getting delayed. As we all know, HPCS is a very significant contributor to the project, so telling them to shut down would be bad for the project too and indeed significantly worse than the problem caused by priming. Telling HPCS to shut down shop is literally the last thing we should be doing.

Nah , not "shut down" , just paused is what I meant....HP could do a website , evryone could go " WOW hp is cool for thier care and concern for folding......It's a media gimmie.

But hpcs could just be filtered....don't tell me you can't do it.....filter by IP .

Like I say , as long as everyone is using hpcs the same I don't care.

Here's how I look at this ( and any competition in general ) :
In order to minimize waaaaaaambulance calls after the fact , the rules need to be airtight.

HPCS is a variable we cant control. So is priming. So the rules need to mitigate or eliminate those , end of story.

Can you post a link to that thread Charlie? I can't seem to find it and I'm curious. Or is it a members-only thread?

what's priming for folding? I personally don't see anything wrong with using HPCS but we will see what happens I guess.

@Charlie, what happened with the @[H] post?

Priming means starting folding a WU prior to the Challenge (contest) and completing it right after the start - huge advantage for us bigadv folders since it can take a few days for completion.
