Looks pretty sweet! Is that 2 dual core processors? I'm curious how many PPD that would get.

Unfortuately no ...they are just hyperthreaded single core chips ( SL7DY )

They use socket 604 , gonna see if I can find better chips.

----

I'm not sure what I'll do with it yet......I might actually sell it , they seem to be worth a few bucks still.

If you fold, they'll cost you an arm in power, for very little ppd in return. If the board had been a S771, it would have been a wee bit better, but not by much.

Yea I nixed the folding idea after I went through it and discovered what chips were in it....and there's no real upgrades avail.....But they are still for sale online 500-1500$ depending on HDD's and this one's packed to the gills.

I'm not worried about finding more folding power now.

I have a bin of about 50 motherboards to go through , and two rooms full of machines.

I should add an addendum to the above post.

I have formed a partnership with a friend of mine .Professional e-recycling .My partner on this venture has a vast stock of hardware right now . Here's my first batch of mobo's to go thru ;

----

I'll put every folder on the team on notice.

I am re-negotiating my electricity bill.If it goes to plan , I hope to at least double my current production....prolly a week before CC haw.

----

Bring it boys and girls. It's on for real now.

edit : I'll also be starting a 'for sale' thread.....hehe the good news will go around.

Hopefully you find some CPU's that are good for folding. Usually when people recycle old computer parts they aren't always worth keeping :( Lets us know if you find any gems!

We recycle that many boards a month, approx 30 systems. It's a pain in the butt to take to the recyclers, but oh well.
The sheer time it takes to setup and test the boards.. it's not worth the effort imo, most boards are dual core at best.. at least in our area.

Yep , I know what you guys mean...a lotta times it's a whole bunch of oem crap....This stuff is 90% aftermarket boards....I wouldnt normally test em out either but there's some good stuff here. Most of em have cpu's in em...

I'm not expecting to find anything worth using for folding other than mebbie Vcard hosts...however , I've been watching the BST forum , I KNOW there's people looking for some of these.

So far so good , I've got 14 mobo's to test out.

I totally found a gem too.I suspect more from a 'geek' standpoint than a 'worth a lotta money' standpoint..

If anyone knows what this is speak up !! It's a custom server board of some kind.... :

Here's the awesome heatsink from the big chip :

That's milled stainless , with a custom panaflo !
