The supermicro 4p board is comparable to the asus 2p in terms of price.. and I am giving away those supermicro chassis :-P

I am replacing my dual xeon (quad core) folder and the i7 950 + dual gpu folder with 3x g34 servers

i am sick of not getting any bigadv units..

usually i upgrade my nas network (24tb raid 6 right now) once a year.. but this year the hdd drive prices went through the roof so I am reallocating the money for the folder farm upgrade

That sucks dude. I hope they don't give you the run around like EVGA does when it comes to damaged CPU sockets. Cost me near $200 to get a socket fixed on an SR-2 (well, they didn't fix it.. they just sent me another board to replace it)
I've never had to deal with supermicro with RMAs.. let us know how it goes.

i am hoping they will see that it was damaged from the factory, since only 3 distinct pins were bent and they are not caused by an incorrect installed cpu (since that would damage a region of pins)

i am just going to drop this back to the distributor and let them deal with it.. i have another one on order for the second set of CPUs anyways..

if they give me the runaround, i will just cancel the next $6k order with them
