Do you have one of those power meters you can use to measure the wattage being pulled from the wall. My system pulls about 450 from the wall so at 12 cents a kW Hr it costs about 36 dollars a month.

0.45 kW x 24 x 365 x 0.12 = 473 dollars a year

473 / 12 = 36 a month.

My rig costs approx $15 per month in extra hydro when I run it 24/7 folding.

Edit: Our electricity rates are significantly lower than 12 cents per kWh. It's like 6.5 for the first 1350 KWH, and 9.5 after that.

Not bad here in Quebec: Residential Rates and Bills | Hydro-Qubec.

5.39¢/kWh for First 30 kWh per day, then 7.51¢/kWh for Remaining energy consumption.

I'm about 13 cents per kilowatt hour here in NS. I stopped looking at my electricity bill years ago because it makes me depressed.
It's all part of the bills I pay now though.

If you are worried about power move to a 32nm CPU. A 2600k, Z68, 8GB ram rig would pull about 200W from the wall. That is just a few bucks a month. :dunno:
