done my man, look in the specs! life is at a different level in 2P world : I transcoded my gf's DVD collection, around 120 discs, handbrake was going at like 6 times faster than real-time, around 150fps. I was ripping the discs during the day, put them in the queue and processing them by night. And, I am even like at the base of the pyramid, there are 2P systems way more powerful than mine. I am contemplating building another 2P system this time with some quad core xeons, based on a mobo of an HP XW6400, socket 771, but the heatsinks have some skyrocketing prices : 50$ for heatsink and fan together, I think this time I would be much better with a core i7, even from the first generation.

Yeah, I just took the plunge into the 2P world myself. I'm not completely sure what I'm going to do with it (well them, I picked up 2 ) yet. I went the Intel route with a pair of L5420's (quad core 2.5 TDP 50W) and aparently you can do a BSEL mod and jump the clock speed up to 3.0. I just got them set up on a table so far to test them out. I'm folding, at least to start (getting about 19K ppd with Ubuntu without any tweaking) they might stay as straight folding power and replace two older SMP folders that I have.

What board?

EDIT: Thought they were E5620s. Now realized they aren't, and that is the SR-2.
