stopped my overclock because of heat and BSOD\ half ppd
well that sucks, my cpu has been running at 64-64C I alsoinstalled new ram started getting BSOD SO I reset everything to normal now I am getting half of my ppd score lol. ug I guess I will have to start the overclock all over again which sucks because I was only at 3.84ghz.\
I need to learn how to properly OC this thing

MARSTG November 10, 2011 03:48 PM

try to oc just the cpu fsb and multiplier, try to leave the memory speeds lower , just a suggestion

Well I am back up to my little 3.841 ( well mess with it tomorrow to get higher) but my ppd is still half as it was before .

Edit ok I just had to re enable big advantage again in the web config now I am close to the same.

How many frames?

Shadowmeph November 10, 2011 07:36 PM

I am not sure what you mean by "frames"

Think of a frame as a part of a WU. Sometimes you need to wait a while before your actual PPD is displayed as some parts of a WU may get processed slower than other parts for various reasons.

If you are using HFM.net to monitor your PPD each frame is 1% progress on the status bar... So if you are at 10% you have processed 10 frames... I think this is how it works anyway. To get an accurate measure of PPD you should let it process at least 3 frames (status bar will be green not yellow).

So the frames are basically the percentage? If that is the case my main box is green and at 42%. I am wondering why the status bar for my Q6600 is blue and when I hover over the status bar it shows up as RunningAsync?

MARSTG November 11, 2011 12:10 PM

so basically your Ph II X6, watercooled, is not passing over 3.8GHz? and to enable the bigadvantage I guess is done under Linux, with the guide of bigadv for Thubans and core i5 2500k?

Shadowmeph November 11, 2011 02:32 PM

Right now I am at 3.841 but cannot get any higher. I actually am not that worried about it because I spent allot of the moring trying to get a stable OC but this is as high as my setup likes to go.
