I should have remembered that Linux is probably the Best OS for any kind crunching type things MS OS is more for graphical type things.
I am curious if reactOS can fold

Any linux distro can fold, you just need the right libraries installed, which isn't too difficult.

Linux has far superior memory management and far better filesystems than Windows which is why it doesn't surprise me it does these things better.

Linux all the way.

Use the Musky Mix [H]ard|Forum - View Single Post - Linux versus Windows - bigadv folding results for best results.

Otherwise known as Linux Folding for Dummies even I could do it.

At 3.6 you should be good for ~188k+ ppd (~490k points every 2.62 days) on a 6904...

Yeah - the VMs are only for people who still want to be able to use Windows on their machines. They're sort of a nice compromise in terms of performance. If it's optimal performance you're after - than a bare metal install is most definitely the way to go.

I have 2 x 640 blacks, one with 7 on it and am installing Linux on the other. Hope I can get my wireless card going on Linux.......

11.04 is fine (NN), that's what I use. But from the other 'nix thread, don't update to 11.10.
