Haven't Quit Hi all, I have not quit folding, but it has been a trying 8 days. All of the sudden my smp clients have stopped completing. I have had 4 units of about 68k go most of the way to finished, then stop, and download a new unit. This morn, I had one get to 99%, before it died. My O/C has not changed, so I am wondering if a bad batch of units are out there, or it is at my end. I find it hard to believe, all of the sudden, they quit running on my stable system tho. Oh well, sooner or later, I may get one completed. :bananafunky: Take care, and CONGRATS Prokaryote for the gentle stomp on my poor head!!.............. Way To Fold |
Can you copy and paste a snippet of the log where the unit finishes, and then downloads a new one? Also, if you can add the -verbosity 9 flag the log files generated give more details. |

Whoa. No Core shutdown sequence, no Core error? That is really weird. Have tried searching for corrupted WUs over at the Folding Forum? There can be a bad batch out there indeed. |

Is the entire snippet you gave continuous Lee or is this two different pieces you gave? In any case, add that -verbosity 9 flag and if it happens again, copy the results here...there might be something gong on that the flag will tell us. |
Hi guys, Yes, no core shutdown sequence is VERY strange. I just cut the last part of the log, for room sake, but it is continuous. If it had a sequence, I would drop my Clock and see if that corrected it. But without one, and has been stable for quite a while on this clock, I am stumped. Will add -verbosity 9 flag and keep you all in the loop. Take care, and thanx for the input and replies!!....... |
I experienced that before when there was a sudden power outage (obviously), or sometimes when there's a Windows update. Have you tried downclocking your CPU by a bit? What about reinstalling the client? |
Hi geokilla, No power outages, and I keep my Windows updated at all times. I dropped my clock from 4000 MHz to 3940 MHz, will see what that does. I guess the 60 MHz will make such a small PPD I won't notice. :thumb: I just wish there was a little more in the log to go by. :angry2: By the way, just for curiosity, what are all running for SMP client build? Maybe I need to upgrade? I am running FAH6.34_win32_SMP.exe now. Take care............ |
