Sounds like it's running as a service... have you checked Task Manager to see if the process is running? Also have you ran the install.bat file, adding your password?

Yes, and yes. Uninstalled it, currently running GUI client no problem. I'll try a fresh install into a different directory when I'm home.

BTW, at stock speed Coretemp reporting 34 and 31. I think I have a little headroom to play with when I start to OC it tonight.

Thanks 3.0, I'm sure it had something to do with having to re-activate XP when I put the new E8400 and mobo in. I think I'll set my system back to no log-on, reset, and then put it back to passworded. Re-install SMP client and re-try.

And no, I haven't started to OC the E8400 yet. I had a couple of beers at my rugby club last night, was exploring the BIOS because it's totally different from my Asus, decided not to take that on while I was half-buzzed and tired. I'd planted everything in my case before I went, but didn't get to boot it before I had to go. Once I start that, I'll move over to the thread in oc'ing going on about the P35-DS3L. Annoy everyone there with my trials and tribulations.

Tells you something that the 1st thing I tried to run was FaH, huh. But it's also a good stress test.

FAH is the best stability test out there, mem included.

As for the DS3L, fire your questions - I think I have tried every single possibility on that board.

As seen on the FAH forum (Folding Forum • View topic - Updated public beta clients):

We are in the process of releasing the updated beta clients. So far, beta2 has been released for OSX-Intel-Console and Linux versions. These are available from the download page. Other clients will be coming shortly. These clients will expire August 2, 2008.

The Linux and OSX clients have no major differences beta1 to beta2. We anticipate a few minor changes in the Windows SMP client.

So technically you should be good until August 2nd...

Nope, I believe the new ones will expire August 2nd.... :(

I'll probably take the chance to load up a leaner Linux on my VM..... :)

That's my point - if they expire on August 2nd, why is it an issue today? Anyway, let us know if the new Client is worth the re-installation.
