oh yes and I also installed latest drivers 275.50 from Geforce.com. it is only after that that it started to fold. Whole last night it did nothing.
during the night the situation seems to have stabilized : fah gpu tracker V2 shows the card running consistently, around 16k ppd. I ovc the card a little, at 1003MHz, MSI afterburner shows gpu load at 95% and gpu temp at around 50deg C. The system is in a small room but AC is blasting all the time. Finally problem seems to be solved by installing the latest driver, even if it is not WHQL. Oh, and something else : last time I only installed FAH GPU tracker V2 and setup the client directly from it's interface, as in downloading all the clients. Don't know if it made a difference, too many changes.

After blowing everything out of the water on Sunday, (around 13k ppd), Monday morning was not folding again. But this time I think I can retrace the issue to my power supply. As i replaced it with the HD 5770 from the other system and it booted fine. Power Supply is the first generation of Antec True power 550W (it does not even have 6 pin connector, had to compose one, instead it has that useless additional power connector.) Replaced in the second system where I have an year old Antec Earth Watts 380, booted up immediately and started to fold. I guess next upgrade is PSU, mandatory.

something more than 500W for sure. I saw an Antec Earth watts 500 used on kijiji i think, the XFX pro 650 is 77 at direct canada with free ground shipping. What I would like would be max compatibility, a PSU that gets 4x6+2 pin PCIE connector and the first to have that is Corsair TX750V2 or settle for sthe XFX 650, it has 2x6pin plus 2x6+2 pin

You will never need 4x6+2 unless you plan on crossfiring 2 6990s or sli 590s.

Last 24 hours stopped folding again. I can see after points is only the Radeon that is folding giving me 511 points/WU. The 550 has a project number 6800 and does not give any estimates. I tried stopping the client, rebooting, and restarting and nothing. The PPD field in the FAH Gpu tracker is a dark yellow shows 0.0. Is it normal? should I worry?

Repeatedly stopping and deleting the 6800 WUs seems to assign other projects, for example those in the 10.xxx range seem to be processed very fast, like the usual 80 or so mins per WU. I wonder if it is something wrong in the fact that is a very new model, given the fact that the client is kinda old, more than a year old. From the folders, anyone with a new GTX 5xx unit having the same issues? GT/GTS/GTX 4xx seem to work with no issues.

Update : I sold the Radeon HD 5770 got an XFX GTS 250, installed drivers 260.99 WHQL, _dangtx_'s suggestion. Started to fold right away, had to decrease core clock a little from 738 to 700 for the sake of silence, after all is not my system, belongs to my gf. For the GTS 250 I have an estimate of around 6200PPD (around 6000 with decreased clocks). I also sold the 550GTX and I am waiting for the 460GTX. What can I say about the 550 GTX Ti? Fantastic performer if you are looking for games but bumpy ride with folding, at least in my experience. One day is blowing everything out of the water, doing 13k ppd, next day nothing, that is when catching famous project 6800 at least, projects in the 10.xxx range are eaten alive, needs manual intervention and a lot of headache which is the last thing I want right now. Might be because the card is very new, might have some unsolved issues for the folding, I prefer an older setup but stable. I am upgrading the PSU also. I decided for the XFX 650 Pro core edition, (78$ at directcanada.com, free ground shipping) it has 2x6 pin and 2x6+2 pin configuration so I will be able to power mostly anything reasonable. Right now I am thinking a 460GTX SLI setup but could also be a 460GTX and a 9800GX2 or 460GTX and a GTX 275 depends what I will find at a reasonable price for sale. As I said, gaming is not really on my agenda, what I am playing right now is a bit of NFSU2 (2006) and some NFS2010 and I could explore some Bulletstorm, maybe. Hoping that will serve to someone in the near future, if you have any questions ask me and I will do my best to answer from the experience I had.
