How did you fix the problem ??

I hope these -bigbeta's stay stable, it would really hurt to lose one at say 94%.

Dual-Quad 5520's @3.78GHz - tpf 35:02 for 174k ppd, 2.43 days to complete .

The Quads are now getting better ppd on -bigbeta than the Hexa's did on -bigadv...

I'm not sure lol.

I didn't have a swap partition setup originally (the warning I got during setup did mention performance issues, but never said it would not work at all). I set up the swap partition and selected option #3 in the installer and it seemed to work. ext3 was the filesystem I used.

I was so happy to get a WU I didn't noticed it was just a 6901. Oh well I'm still happy to be folding again:) I get about 30k PPD and my rig stays folding all year except when I'm gaming. Yup even in the summer my basement doesn't get overly hot and 3 out of 6 case fans are deltas the 44dB ones. When I get my two 6950's on manual fan speed i have a hard time hearing my furnace:P

So will bigadv still be working or will there just be standard smp folding for the future? I ask as I'd like to bring my cpu back up to fold if i can

Yes. Bigadv will still take place, but there will be more shortages it seems (like the one we have now) as Stanford uses the bigbeta program for new research.

Standard smp does not seem to be affected at all by this new program.

Dosn't matter how you get there as long as it works, should be interesting to see what sort of ppd you get.

The first -bigbeta's should be dropping by tommorrow, should make for some interesting spikes on the stats pages...

Hmm alright, I'd love to hear about the guy whose trying one of this on his 920 at 3.8GHz. Wonder if this could still run in a VMware linux image...

Won't work. need 12 cores or threads. A 920 only has 8.

I'm glad I ran into your post my computer feels useless if I'm not folding with it, even though i use it for everything. (mainly gaming)
