Folding on 2 GPU's

Certain motherboards coupled with cards will do a hybrid crossfire in which the Integrated will help the discrete card to get boost in performance and allow the integrated graphics to do the light work in 2D apps... you have to look up your motherboard and find if such a feature is avaliable on it..

Is not my case, the only videocards that will do that is the Radeon 2400 or 3450.

How about folding on two different cards, nVidia, but that are not in SLI? for example different generations? any special settings to be done? I have a single display. Any particular settings? (a lot of interesting items on sale here).

if you were curious to know how much a Radeon 4550 yields, I think is 194, this is what Kakao stats was showing for me today at 1:00 UTC and I guess is the result fro the 4550 as for the 5770 shows 1835 which it usually shows for one unit.

If your display has dual inputs, then you're fine. Otherwise, you may need a dummy plug. I've folded with mixed cards and no issues using the Tracker V2.

9 cards in there, from GTX285 to GTX580 - on 3 seperate rigs (CC 2011).

You get me worrying there. Is it solved finally? Because if you fold with the videocard from your system, being a GTX 460, your PPD production seems smaller than mine. I am using the V7 client and latest driver also. CPu processing in FAH is way under the GPU. My 2 cores on the Phenom get around 480 PPD. I stopped the Radeon 4550 completely, I am waiting for the GTX 550.

I got a question for you guys that is slightly related to this. I have an old Nvidia Nforce 4 SLI motherboard that I haven't used in a while. The power supply is shot so I can't actually test it yet, but if I throw in two ATI video cards into the PCI-E 16X slots; will both GPUs be accessible? I don't care about crossfire but I just want both cards detected.

I just tried and the mobo will boot my Nvidia 6600GT (which doesn't have the additional power adapter) but not my 5830... Strange.


Edit: Figured it out, Nforce 4 Mobos are not compatiable with PCI-E 2.1 (even though the interface is suppose to be fully backwards compatiable). Not sure if there is anything I can do to change that (was not detected in BIOS or device manager).

I just hope the D945G I have supports PCI-E 2.1, lol.

I don't think you are lucky there either. Intel says no.

Great news, the card works fine on my Intel D945GTP! I also hacked the 1x PCI-e slot to add a 2nd card PCI-E 2.1 card and that worked fine too. Who needs a crossfire/SLI mobo .

well, the overview does not mention anything about PCI Express 2.0, just PCI Express, so I assume is not 2.0. Anyway PCI Express 2.0 was launched in 2007 and the first Intel chipset to support it was the X38.
