Think I did 11 hours of LinX, a couple with P95 or OCCT, and I've gamed and folded without issue.

I upped the O.C. to 4.2 ghz about half the way through a bigadv... it finished fine but when the next one downloaded that's when I got the error... I also reinstalled the client for safe measure so it could be some other issue, not sure... What is your 970 running at?

If you do get one of those messages, stop the client before you close the error message. And yes, it does mean your system is unstable.

Came home to a crashed/restarted computer yesterday. Lowered my OC to 4.2Ghz. It's crazy (and shitty) how a month long stable 4.4GHz overclock can just up and die one night.

Yeah, that sucks. I had this happen with F@H too - I had a 920D0 @ 4.4Ghz on water, and would do everything absolute rock stable for 24h, but it would client-core die in windows every so often, so I had to dial it back to 4.35Ghz or something..
It made zero difference at the end of the day in terms of PPD - there is a limit to a chips performance when overclocked, and if you go past you can actually have a deterimental effect.. where you actually get lower PPD.
