I was looking at that actually... But I think I'll wait and see what sales come through tonight.

I might buy the 570 off an RFD user for about 290.

Much better ;) Thanks! :D

Now, am I better off folding with CPU on one machine and use a gpu on a machine with a lesser CPU?

When I tried doing CPU and GPU, it dropped my cpu PPD by about 3k.

Yes, I have a msi mobo with 4 pcie slots and an AMD X2 240 processor. It makes the perfect gpu farm. I had 1-gtx470, 1-gtx 260 & 2-gtx275 folding all at the same time. I did not fold on the processor at all. I only have a gtx450 in it now but may pop in a few more gpus for the "challenge"

One last question as I'm picking up a pair of 560's.

Am I better to run them SLI or individually? Which will produce more ppd?

individually will yield more PPD than SLI. They haven't optimized folding for SLI yet.

Why wouldn't you just pick up a 580? Less power needed overall. It may be a little less PPD.. but it's less heat and power used overall.

580 is over $100 more than what I am getting the 2x 560's for and then I have the ability to split them up at a later date which I intend on doing. Just putting the two in for the time being. :)

I have 6 GTX 560s. .....from my exp....buy the msi twin frozer oc @ 880 core. They overclock well and are quiet and the cooler keeps the temps down. All 4 of mine run 950/1900 core/shaders 24/7 and are quite happy doing so. Just my thoughts. These cards are good for about 15K PPD each on average in the real world. There are some rare old WUs that will get you 19K+ PPD but they do not happen much.

PS I have two gigabyte 560s that are clocked @ 900 from the factory. They do not overclock as well as the MSI cards. 920/1840 is the max stable 24/7 overclock for them.
