I am a complete Linux n00b and I had no problem installing Ubuntu Server on the same HDD as Windows. I just shrank the Windows partition then installed Linux on the spare space. It installs a boot loader which gives you a choice of what to boot to. Although if you end up not liking Linux I have no idea how you would get rid of the boot loader.

Finally, abundant bigadvs. Been waiting for this. I guess I'll be "moving" back to Linux this week then.

Use fixmbr to get rid of a bootloader. It rewrites the MBR back to windows default. Works like a hot damn. MBR Fix - Fix MBR problems

But we were talking about installing inside the windows partition, not along side it.

I guess all good things come to an end as this POS is back to being unstable.

What kind of PPD loss will I get if I leave NUMA on while using Windows 7? Neither of my boards w/ will work w/ two videocards unless NUMA is left enabled. I would like to keep both of my cards but if the difference is huge I'll sell one off.

If I remember that thread over at [H], it's a 5% increase in ppd with NUMA off.

Some boards will work it seems like. When I posted about my issues w/ dual GPU's + NUMA on the EVGA forums, people started putting 2 + 2 together and realizing that was why they couldn't run w/ NUMA off. I am sure it could be fixed w/ a BIOS update, but we all know how likely that is going to happen anytime soon.
