Halp.

Got the SR-2 running off the standoffs right now on the bench - and it has memory problems (just like it's owner!)

Everything in the BIOS is default - and have had to hit the old reset cmos a few times now. It see's all the ram, but errors out when it's used - it doesn't get past 5% in memtest86.
The default voltage for the ram is 1.5v, and i've bumped it to 1.6 and 1.65 to see if it made any difference.

All the auto settings for the ram seem correct (9-9-9-24) and haven't touched any other settings other than RAM voltage.

Does anyone have any troubleshooting things / settings I should be looking at and tweaking to get this to work..?
I have ran memtest with just two sticks of ram, one in slot 1 of each CPU bank - and it passed ok. When I tried dual channel in each slot = crashed at 5%. (I think i'll try dual channel in CPU0 and single stick in CPU1 to see if anything happens)

I have tried two sets of gskill POS ram, and have new AData ram I got from newegg - all ram passes memtest86 in a 980x/920 box. I've been testing ram for a while now.
It's a long story, been working on this build all day.. and have come to realize how much fun I've been missing out with these SR-2s! (my patience is being tested)

Anywho, any help or settings I should be looking at will be appreciated.. i'm off to the EVGA forums too, but wanted to swing a note here first.

Thanks

I got lucky with Kingston hyper X ram. Try lowering the uncore to 16 or so and see what it does.

I've reached the limit of my patience. I can't even register my serial number on EVGA's website.. yeah, it's that bad.
I've read the number off the bottom of the board a few times. I don't get it.. this project is seriously not for the impatient.

...........................looks like I should expect difficulties when I start. Ah well, it is getting too easy to overclock normal rigs. I think I will enjoy the challenge.

Famous last words there Stoaner!

@Rison: Call Evga. Always a chance that they send out boards reconditioned or something. These boards are really a risk/reward endeavor. Will certainly feel good when it gets running. Maybe 3.0Charlie will recognize the serial.....
