I had to use 16 X uncore. Anything else (lower or higher) would not even post... fun times. I am telling you, drink wine while overclocking. It helps !

same for mch strap, 1600 everytnig else = no post.

and same for ram speed, I had to use the 1066 ratio.

edit : I also had to raise IOH voltage and play with IOH delay quite a bit in the tweaking section.

What do you have the IOH delay set to? I barely have touched any of these settings.

And you are unable to use the 800MHz DRAM ratio? I can't use 1600 MCH strap. I can only use 1066MHz. And I can post with others it just drops half of my ram.

800 ratio = no post. I am telling you, this board is so much fun.... Lol. Let me locate the camera, I'll picture my tweaking delay part. (hope the board post after the re-boot ! )

edit: here it is, I also included a wine selection. A nice californian zinfandel. the full body taste helps with the constant clear cmos action ! Also, I did not take the voltage section, but now about 1.34 V-core, 1.425 Vtt. No v-droop. with v-droop = BSOD, but it post !

Can't say I noticed any difference by changing the IOH QPI, will try IOH signal I guess.

Well I got another SR-2 as well as another two sets of ram on the way. Hopefully I can determine if my current board is hooped or not.

meh, both of you 2 Sr-2 ? you are either crazy or have to much money... lol. I am sticking to one !

The only project I got for now is a 2686. so TPF is 13:45 or so. but ppd sucks. And I will be playing some Lfd2 soon, so TPf will drop.

IOH changed the fact taht my integrated sound did not work... not much on the oc part.

Like stoanee said, this is like the cold war... and getting crazier by the minute! The more we contribute, the better. So why not.

I just disabled the second CPU and just like that I am up and running @ 205blck w/ a lower ram ratio and seem to be stable.

I'd take the forgivingness of a P35-DQ6 over having to reset CMOS 15 times a day. Even My A7N8X-E back in ~ 2002 was more forgiving than this monster. I find it hard to believe that people like Shamino worked on this board but were unable to help in this regard.
Theres a few tricks to getting ram to post everytime, one of them is setting the cas back delay from auto to 3 or 5, the other is setting the mch starap from auto to 1333 or 1600. Another thing to keep in mind is the ratio, 2:8 vs 2:10, certain bclk settings prefer one or the other. 200bclk will only be stable with 2:8 but 205 will only work with 2:10, despire 2:10 causing the ram to run at a higher freq.

After having my SR2 for aprox 4 months now, I'm starting to understand all the quircks and whatnot of it. Its just diffrent and not forgiving. Once you nail it and get an understanding for it, its easy to play with the settings.

I'll post my settings I'm using in a momment.
