I don't have anything in the house to measure that unfortunately.

That's ok. Those 450's are very tempting at any rate. My 460's when oc'd to 850Mhz only give 14.5K At almost half the price and probably a much lower power consumption. It's a win win

hmm..even if you don't fold you should have a kill a watt or the like handy. say your psu is rated for 80% efficiency, but you see 200 watts more at the wall then it should be : problem? :)

although, didn't sky get a reading under folding as well for the 450?

Yes, SKYMTL put PPD numbers up in his review, and updated them with a -advmethod WU (the initial #s were from a 611) for good measure.

As far as the killawatt devices go.... if I knew how much power I was using, I might have to reconsider how much folding is costing me / month. ;)

well thats it. since we're in it long term, why keep hogs? 'butcher 'em' :D why do you think i switched all me machines to lower power drawing cpu/gpu combos? im saving about 20-25 or so bucks a months vs 6-12 months ago, if everything is cranked up.

hell me mains browser pulls around 150 at the wall with smp . before that figure was in the 200 something's

that might not seem a lot, but if you cont in less noise(and unfortunately less heat generated) its a win win situation mr ss.

edit : hate the pricing on intel hw, but ppd/kwh is bery nice :)

O.K. thanks guys... the numbers on the GTS450 look very impressive. At roughly half the price of a 460 methinks that is the way to go...

Edit: what temps do the cards run at while folding?

It's ok I guess, but PPD for 611 credit units will surely be much lower than that.

The MSI cyclone on an open bench, and stock fan profile runs around 55C with max extra core voltage. The ASUS TOP (max extra core V as well) runs under 50C with a custom profile and fan speeds between 80 - 90%.

Excellent... my current favorite folding card is the GTX260, they run very cool... rarely break 70 degrees C while folding (don't have to babysit them) ... was thinking of upgrading a few of them to the GTS450's. If I can get the numbers you guys have posted I think it will be well worth it.
