Default Folding Plans for the Present and Future

Hey all,

I sold off my gtx 460, and crossed over the the red side
Picked up a 5970 for selfish gaming purposes, and I'm just wondering
if there are still any possible ways for continuing with folding,
or if I just have to give it up...
I don't care if it means a measly 3k PPD or whatever, I just want to continue folding

Help pl0x!

Your Q9550 can put out around 9K PPD as a full time smp2 folder, and I'd guess around 6K if it's not a dedicated folder. Your AMD card can still put out some PPD as well, but you'd have to read up on how to get it to play nice.... there are apparently quite a few switches (-whatever) that need to be put in place to get an AMD card to run properly. (I gave up on my 4850 after fighting with NANs.......).

you should be able to pull some 5-7k with your duallie amd, but money/ppd its not good, quite bad actually

i figure ppd/kwh would be the same, even thou they are pretty efficient.

Ahhhh! This is what I was afraid to hear!!! :S Oh well, perhaps I'll put a little money into getting a cheap gts450 or something, just for folding.

@sswilson - Yeah I tried folding with my q9550 a while back, and it was fine for a while but it just started getting on my nerves because it almost became un-usable when I left the folding application on.
Plus, I ran into numerous problems.
