But you gain approximately 10% in performance

That doesn't seem right. Load power consumption between a stock and overclocked Thuban can't be more than double...

It absolutely can be double.

How can adding not even 50% voltage (for example) yield double the power consumption? or are you just talking yet again, lol.

I just calculated the theoretical power consumption increase factor for the overclock used in the article, and it came out to about 1.77. 440W divided by 228W is about 1.93. So it's pretty close, and certainly possible. Remember that power consumption increases linearly with an increase in frequency but with the square of the increase in voltage.

im telling you guys, wait for the 95 watter versions. 30 watts at stock might not seem that much, but a good 70-100 full oc may make quite the difference :)

imagine someoen trying to clock that mother on a 3 and a half blind phase mobo lol

*someone post the terminator kaboom piccie plz

But with increased voltage the efficiency goes down and more is lost to heat.... Still doesn't make any sense. The more you OC, the more heat your chip will produce meaning that more of the power you put into it is being lost to heat, rather than to consumption...

I'll check some numbers with my X6 and get back to this...
